Blayne decided the other day that we needed to make Santa some cookies, hoping that the plate full of cookies would make Santa come quicker. I made some sugar cookie dough and let Blayne do the rest. He rolled out the dough but didn't want to use the cookie cutters, he thought that a big glob of dough would be just as good. So, he put in on the cookie sheet and we baked them. I let him keep them for a while until he forgot then carefully got rid of them. He was pretty proud of his culinary masterpiece. I'm sure Santa would have loved them.

So Thankful
We have so much to be grateful for this year. I feel so thankful for my wonderful family. We have so much fum together. This year Holly and her family came to visit from California. We haven't seen her or her cute little boys since last December. It was fun to see how much they have grown. We had a pretty low key Thanksgiving Day. Blayne was able to play some football with Stephen and Bristol. (thankful for the warm weather)
I took some pictures of the kiddos. (thankful for cameras I don't have the best memory) Then we ate sandwiches for our big Thanksgiving dinner. Holly's family made it late on Thursday, so we ate our traditional Thanksgiving dinner Friday afternoon. (thankful for food, although I ate way to much) What would Thanks giving be with out a trip to BYU to see the BEAN museum. This has become a place we visit often. We had just gone the week before for our Saturday family time. Still we never get tired looking at the animals. They never move so you are sure to see every animal.
We had a great time over our long weekend. I love spending the extra time with my family. It seems like there is never enough time to get everything done and sometimes I am so busy I forget how important it is to spend time with those I love.

Halloween Time
I guess I need to post pictures of the kiddos on Halloween. Mostly everyone I know already up picture of their kids on their blogs. I know I'm always a little behind. Halloween was such a busy day for us. In the morning the school had a costume parade, then Blayne had his party. After lunch I had Kristyn and Kaley's parties, then finally Sydney's after that. It was a busy day, but so much fun. I enjoyed seeing all the kids classes in their costumes, if was fun to see how creative some parents are with the costumes. Everyone looked great. Someone asked me why I am helping at the school so often. she said there were better things I could be doing during my day. I told her that I want my children to know how important I think school is. If I just tell them it is important to participate in school but I myself am not willing to put forth any effort I don't think that is such a great example. anyways if you wonder why I am always there I just want to show them I care. enough rambling from me. Here are the kids all dressed up.
Kristyn wanted to be Martica for the Adam's Family, Kaley was a good witch, Sydney was of course a princess, and Blayne a firefighter.

More testing (again)
Sydney had another day of testing this week. Her tests had to be done without her having much sleep. She was only able to sleep a total of four hours for Sunday and Monday nights. It's not that easy to keep a 6 year old up for two nights straight, but she did her best. On Tuesday morning we went to Primary Children's for a fun day there. She met first with the ENT then the respiratory specialist and the the sleep pathologist. She had to have another EEG done, this time she needed to fall asleep. I have never remembered the camera when we are at her normal appointments, this time I was very proud of myself for remembering. She always asks to see herself in the mirror after they hook her up for her test. I think she looks pretty dang cute. The white gauze on her head will be forever known as her spider man hat, thanks to Blayne.

Special Weekend
I had the special opportunity as did others in our ward of attending my dear friends baptism. Pricilla Gale, one of the sisters I visit teach was baptized on Saturday. It was such a beautiful day. Her husband was able to perform the baptism. The sprit was so strong as she entered the water. Her testimony of the gospel is nothing more than amazing. Her faith as never waviered. By visiting with her over the past few months she has taught me so much about the truthfullness of the gospel. I would try to address specific areas of the gospel that she had questions about during our visits. By preparing ahead of time and wanted to present a message to her in a way that was easy for her to understand, it helped me gain a greater testimony of the simple truths of the gospel. I know Pricilla will do amazing things for the church, she is a great example of a follower of Christ. I was so blessed to be a part of her baptism.
Blayne's new job
Blayne just got his first job. He is still trying to earn money for his new lawm mower, so Brother Mc Grath hired him to mow his lawm with him. Brother Mc Grath has a riding lawn mower, and he picks up Blayne on it at our house, then they drive over to his house to mow the lawn. Blayne truly thinks he is doing the Mc Grath's a service by mowing the grass. He is sure that Brother Mc Grath wouldn't be able to mow with our him. Everytime we drive by their house Blayne checks on the lawn to see if it is time for a mow.
It's Autumn Time
I love everything about autumn except the fact that it means winter will soon be here. I love the feeling of the fall air, the cool mornings and the sunny after noons. Our family had be able to spend some time together and enjoy the beautiful weather. Kristyn's teacher had invited us to go with her family to some pretty fun places. We went to the dinosaur museum a couple of weeks ago. It is hard to imagine how huge dinosaurs really were until you stand next to them. The kids had a great time digging for dinosaur bones.
We were also able to go to the scarecrow festival. The kids enjoyed the large slides and the haunted house. I was able to get some fun pictures while we were there.

My sweet girl
Sydney is home from the hospital. She did miraculously well. The first few hours after surgery were scary but she is recovering. She is such a special spirit. Even after all she went through she just wanted to call home to tell her brother and sister that she loved them. The nurse gave her a special doll that is wearing a little hospital gown. They call it her hospital buddy. She drew a face and shoes on her doll. It was nice for her to have something to cuddle. Hopefully we will know more of the results in the coming days. the biopsy results should be back by next week. The Doctors are quite sure that she will need a repeat operation every 6-12 months. we will have to see what happens next. she is such a great example of strength to me. What a blessing she is to have in our home.
"Oh Sweet Sadie"
My friends & I are going to be at an arts and crafts boutique this weekend. It is called "Oh Sweet Sadie" You can look at the offical website online, but I am just posting some pictures of the things we are having at our booth. Let me know what you think. I have had such a fun time getting together with friends to make these projects. Check out our blog "thisandthatcreations.blogspot.com "

OH what a night!!
As many of you may know, because I've been complaining about for a year now, we are having problems with our basement flooding. We weren't exactly sure how to remedy to situation without causing too many issues. Last weekend two of our friends in our ward came over to give us their suggestions on how to fix the problems. They told us it would take A LOT of digging. Bristol and I have been digging up the backyard for what seems like forever. I am just not that much help to him. I try but we just haven't gotten that much dug out. Last night, some amazing friends showed up and truly were an answer to our prayers. They dug in the mud and dirt of our yard for hours. The pictures don't do the hole justice. The long ditch in about 3 feet deep. and the main hole is 6 or 7 feet deep. The long trench run along the perimeter of the fence. The hole at the end of the ditch looks like a swimming pool. I think it would be a great place for a jacuzzi. Thank you so much to all the wonderful friends we have we could not have gotten this far without your help. When I got into bed last night I just cried, I was so grateful to my Heavenly Father for such kind people. I know miracles happen through the help of others.
Yes that is our Bishop and his counselor in our backyard
Family night Fun
Blayne has always wanted to be a firefighter for as long as I can remember. The fire station would be his reward for his many trips back and forth to the hospital. Last night we decided it might be fun to visit the fire station without actually being in the hospital. We used family night to learn about fire safety. I think we on the tour with the firefighters for an hour and 1/2. Blayne couldn't get enough. Even the girls were into it. Sydney wanted to see the needles they use on the ambulance to start I.V.'s . I know pretty sad that she knows so much about the medical field already. The firefighter was honestly going to let her put the needle into his arm, Sydney would of done that in a heartbeat, but I told her she needed to wait until she was older to stick sharp objects into strangers arms. I was a great night. The Firefighters were so friendly towards the children. They even gave us little fire hat to take home. Blayne fell asleep with his in his bed just in case he was called out to help with a fire in the middle of the night.
This is the jet sky the fire fighters use for water rescues on Utah Lake.

The best years of my life
Bristol and I were married on August 30, 1996. 12 years ago. I can hardly believe it. Time sure does fly when you are having as much fun as we are. Bristol is my best friend. He knows everything about me and loves me anyways. My favorite place to be is beside him. Our life together has taken us in a direction that I never imagined. I can now be thankful for the trials we have shared because we have grown to love each other more. It makes me excited for the years to come and the new experiences we can share. I am grateful for our Heavenly Father's plan that has made it possible to be a forever family.
For our anniversary the kiddos put on a concert for us. They were so cute. They had been practicing for a week. They even make programs that listed all the songs they would sing. It was a great performance. The little neighbor girl even came over to help.. They sang seven different songs. "I miss you", "If the Savior stood beside me", "seven things", and "I am a Child of God", just to name a few. What a great present. These are the times that mommy's look forward to.
Happy Birthday to you!!
Our little Kaley turns 9 on September 9th. She was stubborn from the beginning. Before she was born I was induced. We tried for days in the hospital to get her to come. Finally the doctor told me I would need a c-section. Kaley then decided she wanted to be born. She entered this earth on 9-9-99. What an amazing birthday. pretty easy to remember. She is our little performer. She wanted a microphone with a stand for her big day. I couldn't find one so I got her a microphone with a cord instead. The sales guy said it would plug into the t.v. or D.V.D. player. Yeah, that didn't work! I also got her a karaoke c.d. to use along with it. That didn't work either. Oh well, Kaley is perfectly content with the microphone. She turned up the radio loud to sing to Hannah Montana. We love you Kaley. What a great blessing you are to our family. You bring such joy and happiness to me.

Back to School
The girls started their new school year today. They were definitely more excited than I was. Kristyn and Kaley are going to Pony Express Elementary and Sydney will be going to Meadow Elementary. Blayne will start next week at Pony Express preschool. I can't believe how big my little family is getting. Kristyn got her hair cut on Saturday in preparation for 5th grade. (I'm I even old enough to have a 5th grader.) She was very happy with her new hair. I think it makes her look more grown up. I am not sure I'm ready for that just yet. Kaley wasn't even nervous to start today. She is more use to the school this year, and already has a few friends in her class. 3rd grade should be a great year for her. She is becoming more responsible, she was up and dressed this morning without being woken up. We'll have to see how long this lasts. I had a hard time letting Sydney go to school today. The bus came to pick her up at about 8:00, she has an hour and 1/2 bus ride to school. The bus driver is hoping to have her back home by 4:00 today since it is an early out day. I'm not use to her being so far away from me. I know she will do great and have so much fun in class, but I am struggling with having her gone for so long. To me she is still my little girl. How can she possibly be only enough to stay a full day at school and even have lunch in the cafeteria? At least Blayne will still be home for one more week. He will help keep me busy.
I am so proud of the kiddos. They enjoy school and do such a great job. What a lucky mom I am.

Summer Time.........
I've been feeling like a pretty boring mommy this summer. The summer will soon be over. (school starts next Monday) I felt like the kids haven't had much fun. Then I was going over the pictures on my camera and realized the kiddos have had nothing but fun.... We have pretty much stayed around the house this summer, but Utah is full of such fun things that we didn't have to go very far to find something to do. These are just a few of the super fun activities we did this summer.....
I took that Kiddos to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point with one of my good friends Jen Boyd and her kids. This is a super fun place. There are all sorts of farm animals, you can feed and pet. The day we were there one of the goats and one rabbits just had babies. We also were able to go on a hay ride around the farm. A couple weeks later we took them to the Zoo. Our family had a yearly pass that was about to expire. We thought we should get one more use out of it.
This ia absolutely Blayne's favorite thing to do......Go to Home Depot and sit on the riding lawn mowers. Anytime he gets to pick the family activity we end up driving to Home Depot so he can play with the (mow lawnders) He had been saving any money he has to someday buy a riding mower. SUCH A BOY!!!

Our 4th of July was very low key. We went to my parents house, had a small Bar B Q, and lit a few sparklers. Bristol was able to help my dad framed his basement. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins, Hailey and Audrey. Ashley came up for a couple of days from Texas. It was great to see her again and spend some time with them. While they were here all the kids put on a concert for us at the park.
One of my good friends,Erica Decker, who just happens to be Kristyn's teacher for 5th grade, invited us to go with her family to the children's discovery museum at the Gateway. This was one of my highlights of the summer. The museum is full of hands on exhibits. Blayne had a great time pretending to be a firefighter. Sydney of course wanted to be a mom and go some grocery shopping and take care of the baby dolls. Kristyn and Kaley were great sports about playing with the younger kids. We were able to ride Traxs to Salt Lake. The kids LOVED being on the "real life" train. What a great way to spend the day.
After thinking about all the places we went this summer no wonder why I am tired... I've had such a great summer spending time with the children. I think I'm going to have a hard time letting them go back to school. I will truly miss the time we've had to be together.

Sydney turns 6
We celebrated Sydney's birthday a week early this year, because of Grandma Thygerson's funeral. We had her birthday on Father's day instead. Sydney wanted nothing more for her birthday but a baby doll. She was so excited when so got a baby alive. She loves it. We decided not to make a cake but to do cupcakes. The kids had a great time decorating them. It was such a fun day. I can't believe how big my baby girl is getting.
Family reunion of sorts
Just recently Bristol's sweet grandma Thygerson passed away. It was a blessing though, she missed her husband so much. We were able to make to trip to Arizona for the funeral. It was a great opportunity to see Bristol's family. It has been a long time since we have been there and Bristol was missing his family. He kids had such a fun time spending time with their cousins. Blayne followed Case around calling him " his new friend." He couldn't remember his name the whole time we were there. He still calls him his best friend. It was such a long trip down there but the kids did great. They all got car sick but Sydney was the worst. On the way home we had to stop every 5 minutes. (no kidding every five minutes) so she could walk around and feel better. Hopefully we can make it back down to Arizona soon and not have to wait for a funeral.
Stitches
Of course we make it through 3 girls never needing stiches, then there's Blayne. He has already needed three sets of stiches. On June 14, he was helping Bristol in the garage and fell off the stairs. He cut his head open above his eye and on the bridge of his nose. It is pretty sad when Insta-care actually know who we are by name.
