New Family Pictures

Last week Bristol had Memorial Day off, so I decided we needed new family pictures. The last ones we got were almost two years ago. This is a record for me. If I had my way, we would be getting new pictures, at least of the kids, two or three times a year. That never happened so, I thought that once a year on our anniversary would be great. Last year I'm sure sure why but that didn't happpen. I was glad we were able to get new pictures. The kids all did a great job with smiling and standing still. We were all finished in about fifteen minutes. That has to be a record or something. The lady that took our pictures said she has never had such well behaved children. That's because we were in public, she should spend a day with us at home :) Our children are truly wonderful, they are obedient and thoughtful. (most of the time.) I have enjoyed going back and looking at our older pictures to see how much the children have changed. Time is just flying by. I shouldn't be old enough to have an almost 11 year old. I enjoy every minute I have of being a mom.

Sydney's field day

I had the wonderful opportunity of going to Sydney's field day.Sydney's special needs Kindergarten class is adorable. I enjoy spending time with them. When I came to class they all call me "mom" and give me hugs. Her class has been such a blessing for our family, she enjoys it so much and has learned a lot this year.

The weather was great on the day of the Field Day. (since then it has been cold and rainy) We played outdoor water games and activities. Blayne had a great time getting Sydney wet with the water balloons. I think their favorite part was the yummy Popsicles at the end.

Kristyn gets contacts

I can't believe how grow up our family is getting. We went to the eye doctor on Friday. Kristyn asked if she was old enough to get contacts at this visit. The eye doctor told her she could have them if she was responsible. Kristyn did a great job with putting in and taking out her own contacts. I remember when I got my first set of contacts. I was much older than her. I am not sure that I did as good of a job as she did on my first time. I am very proud of the young woman she is becoming.

First Family Fishing Trip

First Family Fishing trip
On Saturday we decided to spend the day fishing. The weather was perfect. we have never been fishing before (at least not the girls and I) we weren't sure how long trip would last, but I was surprised, everyone had a great time. All of the kids caught at least one fish. Kristyn actually caught 3, if you count reeling them in, but never touching the fish. Sydney caught an albino trout. it was pretty neat, if was white with blue eyes. All of the fish were too little to keep, not that I would of anyways, (I don't like to eat fish, let alone clean it out and know what to do with it afterwards) I am pretty proud of my fish, I haven't been fishing since I was about 6, so this is the first trip I can remember. My fish was quite a caught, I whopping 2 1/2 inches.( it still counts doesn't it) It was a very proud moment. The kids laughed at me since theirs were all about 6-8 inches long. the people arount fishing were using marshmallows, I think that must be the trick to caughting the big ones.
We were having such a great time fishing I didn't notice how red our faces and arms were getting. we all got a little burned. My poor fair skinned children. We will all have great farmers tans.

We are finally entering the blogging world

After much convincing from my family we are creating our family blog. I am not sure what has taken me so long. I wasn't sure where to start and it kind of seemed over whelming. The kids really wanted to have a blog since everyone we know has started one, and they enjoy keeping up with what the family has been up to. Sydney checks the blogs everyday. She loves looking at the pictures of her friends and her cousins.

Sydney started riding the school bus last week and loves it. She is ready 2o minutes early just to make sure she catches the bus. She is becoming so grown up, but is starting to get the attitude that comes with that. I guess with two older sisters that had to be coming soon.

Blayne started pre-school last week also. The first two days went kind of rough, but now he is loving it. On Friday he said, "alright mom, I think you should go now, I can do this by myself." he walked right into class and his teacher (Mr. Tim) said he did great!!

Last night Blayne and Sydney were having a hard time with bedtime. Niether one wanted any part of it. Bristol said they had to either had to go to bed or make his lunch. Blayne and Sydney were so excited to make his lunch. (Bristol thought they would for sure pick going to bed.) Next thing I knew Blayne was on the counter with a butter knife and Sydney was handing him the bread, jam and soy butter. ( Blayne still thinks it is peanut butter and won't even try it) They made the cutest sandwiches. Most of the peanut butter was on the sandwich bags, not on the bread. They cut them into fourths so Bristol would have a bigger lunch, that way he has 8 sandwiches.

I can hardly believe summer is almost here. Kristyn told me this morning that they have only 18 more days of school. They get out May 30. Kristyn said she can hardly wait, because then she won't have to get up early to practice piano. I informed her, that we will still be getting up to practice, but they can sleep in until 7:00. I don't think that was the answer she was looking for. She said she'd rather be in school.
Kaley on the other hand doesn't want school to end, she loves chasing the boys at recess, and doesn't want to see that end. ( I guess I had that coming, my mom said she wished that on me, I would spend most of my recesses chasing the boys too.)

Fishing in Herriman

Fishing in Herriman
Kaley's big one. Kaley didn't have the patience to cast and wait for the fish to bite. I'm not sure how she managed to leave the pole in the water long enough to catch anything.

Kristyn fishing (kind of)

Kristyn fishing (kind of)
I think Kristyn would rather sit back and relax, and stay as far away from the fish as possible

Sydney' fish

Sydney' fish
Sydney was getting tired of fishing so she was reeling in the line to pack up and go home. She couldn't beleive it that there was a fish attached to the end of the pole

Blayne was ready for fishing before anyone

Blayne is quite the fishing pro. He has his own spiderman pole and his fishing hat.
